Biography

Dr. Heechun Song received a Ph.D. degree in Ocean Engineering in 1990 from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Since 1996, he has been a research scientist in the Marine Physical Laboratory/Scripps Institution of Oceanography (MPL/SIO), University of California, San Diego (UCSD). His research interests include source localization and matched field processing, array and waveguide invariant theory, blind deconvolution, ocean acoustic tomography, rough surface scattering, underwater acoustic communications, and applications of machine learning to ocean acoustics. Dr. Song is a fellow of the Acoustical Society of America and an Associate Editor for the Journal of the Acoustical Society of America (JASA).
